This exciting event supports Camp Wendake:
It is the mission of Camp Wendake to provide a safe, welcoming residential camping experience for persons living with HIV and those who support them. We strive to honour diversity in age, gender, race, sexual orientation, ability, health status, culture, spirituality and economic state.
Our camp program includes: - a great menu of three full home cooked meals per day, plus snacks and drinks available 24/7. No one goes hungry at camp! - evening campfire programs along with other nightly activities such as variety night and bingo. - daytime activity options can include arts & crafts, a town outing, children's program, swimming at our stunning beach and waterfront, choir, drumming circles, archery... and so much more - an opportunity for individuals living with HIV to socialize and be with others who share this experience
Camp Wendake welcomes approximately 80 campers and another 40 volunteers from across Ontario each year. Running the weeklong retreat costs approximately $40,000 - covering everything from meals to transportation. We rely on the generosity of private and corporate donors to cover all of our operating costs, as we receive no government funding. Please consider donating to this worthwhile cause if you have the means to do so.
