Pride London Festival presents A Proud Evening of Great Entertainment at the Aeolian Hall, 795 Dundas Street on Friday, June 4 with doors opening at 7 PM. The evening features live music, dancing, and a silent auction. Pride has been a part of London’s history since 1982 and was incorporated as a stand alone nonprofit event organization in 2004. This rich history and renewed community efforts lead to London’s annual Pride event being recognized in 2008 as a significant community cultural event by the City of London. This year’s event running from July 15th to July 25th, 2010 proposes to be no different as we work collectively with our community and funding partners. Specific events include the opening reception and Art Exhibit on July 15 at Strand Fine Art. Additional events include a film event, local theatre featuring a Canadian Premier, and literary reading. Community partners include Metropolitan Community Church’s Annual Pride Picnic, CHRW Radio Western’s All Gay All Day Radio, and a family fun day at East Park Golf Gardens. The main weekend takes place in downtown London with vendors, community groups, Kidz Zone, and live entertainment concluding on Sunday, July 25th with the Pride London Festival Parade. We hope you can join us for the fun! About the PerformersRick Kish with Special Guest Natalie Howard-Grant and Featuring Marque Smith on Piano. This entertaining show includes some of the greatest musical theatre tunes, showstopper songs & jazz standards interspersed with stories & comedy... performed LIVE with a three piece band comprised of piano, bass & drums. The show is divided into two acts with a total running time of approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Act I is comprised of mainly jazz standards and some show stopping songs delivered by Rick and Natalie. Some songs included are Fly Me To The Moon, The Lady Is A Tramp, Send In The Clowns, Fever, Bewitched, Bothered & Bewildered & Paper Moon to name just a few. Act II will provide the musical back drop for the evening where you can feel free to mingle or get up on the dance floor and dance to the more of those favourite standards. The talent and experience of K & M with a commanding stage presence and a simple love of performing together produce a musical experience that transcends the sum of their respective talents to produce a musical experience with broad appeal.
