Announcing the 2015 London Pride Parade Grand Marshal

Posted May 1, 2015

Friday, May 1st, 2015

It is with great excitement that the Pride London Festival Board of Directors announces outgoing Police Chief Brad Duncan as the 2015 London Pride Parade Grand Marshal!

Chief Duncan has been committed to fostering inclusive principles of diversity within the London Police Service. With an emphasis on community partnerships, he has worked to make London Police Service the leaders in maximizing the potential of diverse talent.  Pursuing their policy on Diversity, and their objective “to enhance employee’s understanding and appreciation of diversity within the workplace and the community,” and in support of an inclusive workplace.

Chief Duncan took an opportunity at the 2012 Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police Annual General Meeting to issue a call-to-action, for all police departments, including RCMP and OPP, across the province; to employ a diverse workforce and to experience the benefits they have gained. He encouraged attendees to provide meaningful employment opportunities and to foster an inclusive working environment, where all employees are appreciated and valued.

Chief Duncan was the first Police Chief to walk in the London Pride Parade in 2011.   Over the course the next few years Duncan encouraged Police Services from across the province to take part. After the Parade in 2014 Duncan announced that he received no negative phone calls about him walking in the parade and stated “… I guess that means we are finally there!”

The 2015 London Pride Parade will take place on Sunday, July 26th and wraps up ten days of events taking place from July 17th – 26th, 2015.
